We often talk about how Starkeytown is a special place.  We want people to enjoy and discover the magic we feel in Starkeytown as we work and live in these woods.  Often, we talk about how secluded you can feel from all of the excitement of the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area, and certainly this is true.  When you enter Starkeytown it is like a transformation from what we have become used to when we think of the Smokies.  Here, at Starkeytown, it is indeed quiet and serene.  A chaoitc day is when a tree falls across the road, and we are forever grateful for our upbringing in Starkeytown.

However, we don’t want you to get the idea that we never go out!  Autumn is a lovely time in the area.  All the things that so many people, especially the kids love about October and the season are all around you.  We’d love to invite you to stay in Starkeytown, but be sure and experience the Illuminights at Dollywood and the other fabulous displays around the area.

Families will create memories when they visit Dollywood in the autumn.  The pumpkins are delightful and that Halloween spirit you long to recreate in yourself will fall upon you as you stroll through the displays and try the foods etc.  Dollywood is a great experience that we do highly recommend.  Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains are known for their family friendly atmosphere and that is never more true that at Dollywood.  The more you know about Dollywood and the work Dolly Parton has done in this area, the more you want to support her work and the wonderful imagination that is on display at Dollywood.

Christmas in the Smokies brings Dollywood alive with the Christmas spirit.  Winterlights light up the streets, sights and smells fill the crisp air, songs and hymns are sung as you stroll through the beautiful areas they have spent months decorating with millions of lights.

When you consider a vacation in Starkeytown, we want you to have the most fabulous experience you have ever had in the Smokies.  There is a lot to do in the area, but we hope to steer you towards some time and space and very special times that happen when you connect with one another and enjoy the opportunities in front of you.
